Shiny Star Nursery

At Shiny Star Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The EYFS framework:

  • sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well.
  • ensures children are kept healthy and safe.
  • ensures that children have the knowledge and skills they need to start school.

Each child is assigned a key person when they first start at our nursery. The key person will help your child settle and explore their likes and dislikes to support their development. A key person is your main point of contact within the setting and is able to support you with an queries you may have.

Babies ages 3 months – 2 years will receive daily diaries outlining special activities they did on the given day, how the slept, what they ate, nappy changes and any messages from the child’s key person. Our older children receive the same feedback; however, this is done orally.

We organise parent consultations 3 times a year, termly, where you can meet with your child’s key person, discuss your child’s progress and find strategies to support your child’s development both within the setting and at home.

We believe parent and key person working relationships play a vital role in your child’s development therefore, our staff like to maintain a healthy relationship with parents to ensure the well-being of your child and their development.

Throughout the year we have many different extra-curricular activities such as Spanish, Football, Dance, Meditation, Zumba and many more. We also take the children on short outings to the local park or shops. Once a year we go on our annual school trip.
